Hi, I have a gitea actions workflow that should run whenever I push to the repository, but sometimes nothing happens. the workflows file looks correct to me. What should i check first when a workflow doesnt trigger at all?
when a push never creates a run at all, start on the trigger side before blaming the runner.
- repo Settings → Actions enabled, and
[actions] ENABLED = truein app.ini - workflow lives under
.gitea/workflows/*.yml(or whatever path you configured) - the
on:matches what you actually pushed (branch name, tags, paths filters) - Actions → Runs: empty means it never fired. a run stuck waiting means labels/runner.
if the runs list stays empty, check gitea logs around the push for workflow parse errors. a bad indent can make the file get skipped. also confirm you pushed the workflow file itself to the default branch first so gitea knows it exists.
