To save anyone else from having to dig this up, it was intentional rather than an oversight and just not mentioned as breaking in the changelog:

Official releases are built by Golang toolchain with CGO disabled. For packag…ers who need to cross-compile with CGO, use "build" target with proper TAGS/LDFLAGS/CGO_CFLAGS to make "$(EXECUTABLE)" target run the "go build" command. By the way, drop i386 arch support ------ Major changes: 1. binary names are simpler than before: * ` gitea-main-nightly-darwin-10.12-amd64` => ` gitea-main-nightly-darwin-amd64` * `gitea-main-nightly-windows-4.0-amd64.exe` => `gitea-main-nightly-windows-amd64.exe` 2. `386`-target binaries are not built anymore 3. `gogit` binaries are only built for main-nightly but not stable releases (#39324)
