# Settings for Active Directory

Hello,

I am trying to make my gitea installation accessible to the users in my active directory, but it won’t work.[Bildschirmfoto 2020-08-05 um 12.00.05|371x500](https://forum.gitea.com/uploads/short-url/3RydGeCaRiZHiudCUEBjLkMq3gx.png)

My log says:

2020/08/05 11:58:03 models/user.go:1873:SyncExternalUsers() [E] SyncExternalUsers LDAP source failure [web **ldap** @mycompany.de], skipped

What am I missing? I was able to connect my users to a moodle instance, so my active directory should work. There must be an error in the settings here.

I would remove the (OU=Users, DC=…) in the filter. You already declared that as your search base. Then, from that point, just make sure your filter members are properly terminated and joined.
