# How to fix "no space left on device" error?

Today, I tried to import a repo from GitLab. I got an error that “no space left on device”. I logged into the server and ran `df -h --total /`. I have 14GB free. I checked the Gitea logs and found almost 1400 pages of the same error. Why am I getting this error? How can I get Gitea to use more space?

I’m on Debian 10 (I know I have to upgrade). Gitea is installed via the binary.

This could be caused by a lack of free inodes. What does `df -hi /` report?

Are you sure Gitea is using `/` and not another filesystem?
