# How to enable code search without indexer?

The [feature announcement](https://blog.gitea.com/release-of-1.22.0/#rocket-code-search-without-indexer-29998) made it seem like it would be enabled automatically if no indexer is configured. However, after upgrading to 1.22, I cannot see the search feature on any of our repos.

I checked the documentation, and it doesn’t mention any config option for this feature. Maybe I missed something?

No problem.  
It’s our problem that we didn’t update the screenshot even though we should have.
