# Can't add new user

Just did a new installation on Rocky Linux 9.4 with Mariadb 10.11 and can’t add a new user, have tried using the cli but get an error as per the following,

I tried running the command while my git user was not part of the sudo group and I read on the forum that I needed to use sudo, but after adding the user to the sudo list the command still gives the above error. So sudo or no sudo same result.

Furthermore I saw some screenshots have a “User Account” section on the Site Administration tab like from this thread, [Can new users be restricted to issues only? - #2 by chk](https://forum.gitea.com/t/can-new-users-be-restricted-to-issues-only/1045/2)

But my installation does not have any menu option for the User Account,

So I’m currently stuck with the first admin user created during the installation, need some help or pointers as to how I can A) add a new user, and B) access the “User account” in the web GUI.

Side note, running the command “gitea admin user list” says command not found, but running “gitea -v” displays the correct gitea version.

Ran into a new user embed limit from the previous post. Addendum from the previous post, my GUI only shows the following,

I don’t have the “User Account” link, I have gone through every link available on the left menu box and didn’t see anything about users so not sure where to find it.

Under Identity & Access menu, there is a sub-menu for user managements.
